Ammasu – More Drumming

1975 - 1977 Ghana

In the seventies I studied in Ghana. One of the places I was learning was in the village of Ammasu in Brong-Ahafu. Here is some great music that I recorded there

A musical portrait of the Village of Ammasu in the Brong-Ahafu region of Ghana with a 28 page booklet with texts and pictures. In this digital-only album you will find more drumming music.

Extra material from the musical portrait of the Village of Ammasu in the Brong-Ahafu region of Ghana with a 28 page booklet with texts and pictures. The Ammasu Akapoma Band is the hottest funeral band in the region. On this album you will find more recordings of ritual and recreational drumming.
